Risky Business

Happy Saturday!

True Story: This week, I had to order white cardstock and twine from Papertrey, and when I did, somehow, inexplicably, the birdcage stamp set jumped ALL BY ITSELF into my cart. And for some reason, the edit button wasn't working and I couldn't delete it from my cart. It just wouldn't delete! So I went ahead and bought it. Isn't that a shame?

Why is it when people are lying they always say, "True story"?

Anywho, since my new birdcage set isn't here yet, take a look at this card using the Hero Arts clear set called Just a Note and Marina Mist cardstock. Here's a ruler card that DOESN'T make me think of male anatomy.

How many of you followed that male anatomy link thinking you were going to see something naughty? English majors don't roll that way. No, ma'am. We just write about male anatomy and stamp pear cards.

Speaking of which, have you ever driven up to a city, rounded a curve, and seen a bunch of skyscrapers competing for the Tallest Building Award? I always think of rulers then, too, and the odd things that must go on in business meetings.

Sorry, folks. It's just one of those days.

  1. Careful if you ever go to London and come across the building locals call "The Gherkin" ;)

  2. What a laugh, thank you. I have the same problem with online shopping (not limited to PTI), you can't just leave those poor little stamp sets with no home can you?

  6. Now I'm going to add more naughty to this thread....in Belfast there is an area called 'The Falls' and, the City Council in it's wisdom, has commissioned some artist to create street art...in this case it is a sphere or spheres....not even created yet but has already been nick-named 'The Balls on the Falls'....just like Molly Malone in Dublin's Fair City - she's nicknamed the Dolly with the Trolley and there is another piece of street art which looks like a woman in the bath and it's nick-name is 'The Floosie in the Jacuzzi'. Come to Ireland, North and South, for this kind of thing folks...the tourist board and the rest of us will give you a warm welcome.
The card is great - loved the bit about sets jumping into your cart!!! LOL!!

  8. Susan- I really like this card, although not as humorous as the other one. I have had the shopping cart problem too many times.

  11. I have always loved pear images, but will never think of them the same now. Somehow missed that original blog post. Your post about giving birth is still my favorite.

  13. The world is full of mysterious happenings. I haven't yet had a stamp set jump into my cart but have definitely gone to a nursery to buy a bag of grass seed and had several plants jump into my car. I'll now be on the alert for those sneaky stamp sets.

Loved the link to your pear card - I wasn't aware of your blog back then so it was a treat to read an earlier and very funny post.

  14. I love this card!

What I don't love is...cherries. Pairs of cherries.

  15. Reminds me of the scene in "Shrek" where Shrek and Donkey are admiring Lord Farquad's castle and Shrek wonders aloud if he is compensating for something. That line gets me EVERY time.

The card is lovely. I am enamored of that little folder stamp; it is much prettier than the manila envelopes we see at work.

  19. Years ago, in her book "The Womens Room", Marilyn French wrote that men erect in stone that which they can not achieve in life, or words to that affect. I remember underlining the passage in yellow highlighter. Even though I can't remember her exact words, they still make me shake my head.

  21. You know, I have never looked at a pear the same way since! And now, sigh, I will probably never look at a ruler the same way! Your card looks great, as ever!

  22. Funny story. Look up the definition of story in a dictionary and you will see why true story exists.
